Free tool for law firms
Free Law Firm Website Compliance Scan
Check your website for bar advertising red flags and AI visibility problems in about 30 seconds. No signup, no sales call required.
What the scan checks
Two risks most law firms never see
Bar advertising red flags
Bar rules make the lawyer responsible for every word on the firm website, even when a marketing agency wrote it. The scan looks for the wording that bar complaints cite most often.
- “Specialist” and “expert” claims without a named certification
- “Best”, “#1” and “top-rated” superlatives
- Case results and settlements with no disclaimer
- Language that promises an outcome
- Testimonials, award badges and review widgets
- “No fee unless we win” with no mention of costs
- Chatbots, website disclaimers and privacy policy
AI and search visibility
More clients now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Overviews to recommend a lawyer. If those tools cannot read your site, they recommend someone else.
- AI crawlers blocked in robots.txt
- Law firm schema (LegalService and Attorney)
- Content that only appears after JavaScript runs
- llms.txt and XML sitemap
- Title tag, meta description and H1
- Mobile setup and click-to-call
- Firewalls that block crawlers

Questions
Free website scan FAQ
Is this scan legal advice?
No. It is an automated scan that flags wording and technical issues for a person to review. Legal Web Agency is a marketing and web design agency, not a law firm. For your state’s exact requirements, check with your state bar or ethics counsel.
How accurate is the scan?
It reads the text of your public pages and matches it against patterns that commonly lead to bar complaints. It can miss problems, and it can flag wording that is acceptable in your state. Every flag shows the exact text, so you can judge it yourself.
Do state advertising rules really differ?
Yes. Most states start from the ABA Model Rules 7.1 to 7.3, but many add their own requirements. Read the rules for your state in our state-by-state attorney advertising guide.
What happens to my data?
The scan only reads your public web pages, the same way a search engine does. If you request a fix plan, we use your details to send it to you.
What if the scan finds problems?
You can fix them yourself using the report, or request a free fix plan and we will tell you exactly what to change, in priority order. For a deeper review of rankings and content, see our free law firm SEO audit.
