Free Law Firm SEO Audit
Send us your firm’s website and we will run it against the same eight-part checklist we publish, then write up what we find in the order it should be fixed. No charge, no card, and the findings are yours whether or not you ever work with us.
Get a free review of your law firm’s website
Tell us your practice area and URL. Within three business days you get three specific fixes, ranked by what they would do for your caseload. No sales call unless you ask for one.
Prefer to talk? Book a 15-minute call. No spam, no retainer, no obligation.
Usually back with you within three business days.
What you actually get
A short document a partner can read, not a 140-row crawler export.
One
Findings in priority order
Every issue we find, ranked by what it is costing you — not by what a tool coloured red. Missing alt text on a divider does not appear.
Two
The overlap check
Which of your own pages are competing with each other for the same searches. This is the most common ceiling on an established law firm site and almost no automated audit reports it.
Three
A fix order with effort
Each finding marked as hours, days or months of work, so you can tell an afternoon’s job from a six-month programme before you budget for either.
What we look at
The full checklist, in the order the checks depend on each other.
Findability
- Indexing — how much of your site Google actually holds
- Crawl errors, orphan pages and sitemap gaps
- Mobile speed and Core Web Vitals
- Redirects, canonicals and post-redesign losses
- Titles, meta descriptions, headings and internal links
- Structured data for a legal practice
Winning the client
- Pages on your site competing with each other
- Practice area coverage against what clients search
- Google Business Profile, categories, NAP consistency and reviews
- Referring domains and the links you are entitled to but have not claimed
- Whether visitors can call you — forms, tap-to-call, tracking
- Advertising-rule exposure in copy, meta fields and schema
Why it is free
Agencies commonly charge $1,500 to $7,500 for a standalone law firm SEO audit. We do not charge for this one because it is also how we decide whether we can help you — and reading a site properly is the only honest way to answer that.
Some firms ask us to fix what we found. Most take the document and fix it themselves, which is a perfectly good outcome and costs us nothing but the time we already spent. You will get one follow-up email. There is no call sequence, no drip campaign and no card to enter.
What we need from you
- Your website address
- The practice areas and markets that matter most
- Read-only Search Console access, if you have it
Search Console access makes the audit considerably more specific, but it is optional — we can run the whole checklist from the outside if you would rather not share it.
How it works
Three steps, and two of them are ours.
Step one
Send us the site
Your website address and a sentence about which practice areas matter most. That is the whole ask.
Step two
We run the checklist
A person works through all eight sections on your actual site. Usually back with you within three business days.
Step three
You get the findings
Written up in priority order, with effort estimates. Take it and act on it yourself, or book a call if you want it walked through.
Worth doing if
- Your site has been live six months or more and is not producing enquiries
- You are about to sign an SEO retainer and want a second opinion first
- Traffic dropped after a redesign or a move to a new platform
- You rank well and the phone still does not ring
- You inherited the site and nobody knows what was done to it
Probably not yet if
- The site has not launched — there is nothing to measure yet
- You want a guaranteed ranking position; nobody can honestly promise one
- You need the audit to justify a decision already made
If any of those is you, say so anyway. We will tell you what would actually help, even when the answer is that an audit would not.
Questions
Is the audit really free?
Yes. There is no charge, no card and no obligation, and you keep the findings whether or not you work with us.
How long does it take?
Usually within three business days of us having the site address. If your site is unusually large we will tell you before we start.
Do I have to be on WordPress?
No. The checklist is platform-agnostic — WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, a custom build or a provider’s hosted template all get the same review.
Will I be called repeatedly afterwards?
No. You get the audit and one follow-up email. If you do not reply, that is the end of it.
Can you audit a site another agency manages?
Yes, and it is one of the more useful times to do it. We will tell you what we would question in their work without pretending every finding is a scandal.
What if you find nothing much wrong?
Then we will say so. It happens, and telling you the site is fine is more useful to both of us than inventing a problem.
Is this the same as a website audit?
It overlaps. An SEO audit asks why the site is not found; ours also covers whether visitors can contact you and where the copy carries advertising-rule exposure.
Can I run it myself instead?
Yes — the whole checklist is published. Work through the law firm SEO audit guide and you can do the same review in about ninety minutes with free tools.
The full checklist is published here: the law firm SEO audit checklist. If you would rather not run it yourself, that is what this page is for.
Find out what is holding your site back
Send us your website address. We will run the full checklist and write up what we find, in the order it should be fixed.
Or email the site address to hello@legalwebagency.com
Legal Web Agency is a marketing agency, not a law firm. An audit is not legal advice and does not state what your jurisdiction requires.
